Excellence at George’s House

Congratulations to the George’s House team! …
We know George’s House is a special program but now Healthcare Excellence Canada has recognized that too. And a new video lets us see the beautiful moments of caring and connection that make the site so extraordinary.
Since George’s House opened as a palliative care program in 2019, the team has brought compassionate end of life care to more than 50 people. Those individuals could, otherwise, have been unhoused in their final phase of life. This year, Healthcare Excellence Canada (HEC)* acknowledged the quality of that care by identifying George’s House as a promising practice model.
That recognition was based on an HEC program team’s review of GH program services. The review found that, from helping clients renew connections with family and friends to fostering a sense of community within the House, the staff's commitment to meeting the unique needs of their clients shines through. See what impressed the HEC reviewers in "Promising Practice: George's House."
And we can ‘visit’ George’s House in the beautiful video, ‘A Morning at George’s House’. See the care, commitment and even joy that clients experience at George’s House. The video shows why clients said, “It’s a great place and I’m glad they picked me.” and ‘It’s an honor to be here.”
