Supervised Consumption Service (SCS)
The George Spady Society Supervised Consumption Service (SCS) can be the pivotal first step toward recovery and wellbeing for individuals and plays a critical role in the continuum of services and the path to recovery. At SCS, Recovery Coaches, Support Workers and Healthcare Professionals help clients navigate pathways to recovery, including access to housing, mental-health services, and addiction-treatment programs. Many clients of the SCS eventually engage with our Medically Supported Detox (MSD) program, where they can begin their recovery journey with the support of a multidisciplinary team. For many, this makes the SCS an essential first step in stabilizing health and building trust.
The SCS empowers individuals to seek out recovery, ultimately linking them with the broader continuum of care that includes housing and culturally supported long-term wellness programs. Through this model, the George Spady Society ensures that the SCS is a vital entry point into a continuum of care that can lead to meaningful recovery for vulnerable populations.
